13-9-09 - Senior Grand Finals success
In a great day of grand finals congratulations to all teams who competed. On reflection every THA club won a Grand Final, which is a great outcome for all Clubs. From a Wests Perspective the results were as follows:
1- Division 1 Men were unlucky to lose in extra time. They had won the Minor premiership and in the last week or so had to overcome some adverstites, which they did to just lose in a gripping final;
2- Division 1 Ladies, Congratulations on a great and well deserved grand final victory. A pleasure to see a team containing a lot of locally developed wests players that have come through our junior ranks, win and play a great game. That is a consequence of the success of our Junior Girls Hockey
3- Division 3 Men. Congratulations on a great extra time victory. The drop off winning was undertaken with a team comprising all of our Junior Boys from our undefeated U 15 Boys team. A great outcome for a team comprising a great mixture of older players and juniors. Congratulations to Mitch Laguana for winning player of the final.
4 - Division 4 Men went down in extra time in a gripping final. After winning the minor premiership they just missed out in extra time on a grand final victory. Thanks for a great season.
5 - Division 4 Ladies were desperateley unlucky not to get a win, and were just pipped at the post.
6 - Division 5 Ladies did the Grand Final and Minor premiership double. Congratulations ladies. This was a great game eventually decided with Wests winning in penalty strokes. A great game and played in a great spirit.
7 - Vet Men went down in the vets Grand Final. Well done to all our team.
8 - Vets Ladies( a combined Wests and Commericals side) drew the Grand Final and with no extra time in vets, shared the Trophy with parks.
